This was a fun story of a marriage of convenience between best friends. Author Carol Moncado loves the theme of couples marrying without love and incorporates it into so many of her books!

In Small Town Girls Don't Marry Their Best Friends, Tessa and Gray are forced together by the death of her beloved great-grandfather. I enjoyed the way their marriage changed their friendship, making it awkward as they attempted to navigate this change and their growing feelings for each other.

But it wasn't enough to have this as the plot. When Tessa sustains a debilitating injury, things get even more difficult. And sweet.

Each of Carol Moncado's books incorporates characters from her previous stories. The number who appeared in this one and played a significant role seemed high to me as I was trying to keep up with who is who and what happened in their story. As secondary characters, I probably didn't need to do this other than by compulsion.

The story had a satisfying conclusion and a cliffhanger to set the scene for the next book in the series. I'm curious to find out what happens next!

I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
