This was a great book. It picked up where book 1 left off and, for a while, let the fate of Lyall, Alondo, Patris and Keris up in the air. Shann's rescue and the introduction of Rael was great.

The twist in this book really surprised me. I was in no way expecting it and, to me, made the book. The twist (which I will not reveal) totally explained a bunch of things....from the Prophet to the Barrier of Storms.

I gave this book 5 stars on Shelfari and Goodreads. It was a great 2nd book in the series and a perfect bridge to the final book.

Will I reccomend this book to family and friends? Definetly yes. To be honest, this trilogy was suggested to me by my SO (who is a huge sci-fi/fantasy fan). I honestly think that reading this trilogy would turn people onto sci-fi/fantasy. It was that good.
