Haunting the Night is available only online, a novella that fits between the previous full-length novel One Hundred Candles and the next (and last) full-length novel Beyond the Grave. Novella or not, this has been my favorite of the series. Once again, Purnhagan brilliantly blends the paranormal with the mundane, the latter almost the forefront of this particular story. This book was extremely emotionally charged, making me cry at times right along with the characters. There was also a considerably darker tone to this story, very much in keeping with the series and its progression. The characters really drive the plot and are so well-developed that sometimes you get completely lost in their lives and almost forget it's fiction!

While any of these novels or novellas could be read alone, they make for a much fuller story line when read from the beginning. Next up is Beyond the Grave, the final story in this amazing series!
