When the story opens, Betty is in the process of leaving her fiance’ Thom a Dear John letter. Despite trying to talk to him, his job and their lackluster relationship has her rethinking the whole marriage proposal. Just as she leaves the entire condo blows-up and she finds herself kidnapped. Thom’s a boring insurance inspector? I think not because, things just got interesting.

Suspense, snark, guns, and chemistry had me devouring Lies, in a single evening. Betty was a hoot, and Thom well, he was a little rough around the edges. I struggled with him a little, but Scott allowed us to see glimpses of sweetness and he certainly wasn’t hard on the eyes. Oh, he will mess up, trust me, but the ride to our HEA was filled with shoot-outs, hot kisses, steamy showers and plenty of sass.

If you like Mr. & Mrs. Smith, you’ll want to grab Lies. This was a fun, standalone romantic suspense with plenty of twists that will hook you, piss you off and make you laugh but ultimately leave you smiling. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer
