I loved all the characters. Penelope was awesome. She made me laugh out loud the whole way through. The pop culture references were a nice touch and I enjoyed Carter's nicknames for her. The plot is perhaps a bit weak overall, but the characters more than make up for it. I liked that they were all supportive of one another, it's nice to see family and friends who love one another no matter what the circumstances. And I didn't find myself hating even one character, although Thomas! How could you break Connie's heart?! Even the demons amused me. The romance was adorable and the world building was interesting. This was a fast paced light read and I'm excited to read the sequel.
