BLURB :Marci Renault never thought that she was particularly special, but then she receives a text message that changes her life forever. It's a picture, just a picture, showing a patch of shadow in an otherwise sunny park, where no shadow should be. The problem is, the picture was sent by a colonel - who just happens to have been dead for over a hundred years. Forced to confront a family secret that threatens to overwhelm her world and even her sanity, Marci is caught up and plunged into the dark corners of existence. Alone, not knowing where to turn or who to trust, she quickly realizes that some scary stories are absolutely true, and that there really are things that stalk you in the night.A tale of obsession and discovery, the From the Corner of Your Eye trilogy portrays a young girl's struggle against dark and unknown forces.

REVIEW:
I was absolutely thrilled to have received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.   I was thrilled because I am a big fan of the paranormal genre and was looking forward to reading about Marci and her encounter with the dark and unknown forces.

Of all the characters, Marci is my favourite.  She has been living a normal life and never thought herself to be extraordinary but that all changed when she received a MMS from a colonel who has been dead for over one hundred years now.   I thought she was quite brave because personally if I were the one who had been receiving those messages that phone would have been history. I found her to be quite intelligent and astute.  There were times it was obvious that she was scared but she was not afraid to confront those fears to get to the truth.   Then there was Ira who Marci had contacted to garner information about what was taking place. He was quite hilarious. What I found most hilarious about him was the fact that he was so into this whole paranormal thing but yet he was afraid of his own shadow. The other supporting characters were just as interesting; however I can’t say much about them without giving away the story.  You will just have to read the book to find out.

The author’s writing style was quite descriptive and it left a lot to the imagination.  There were times when I actually got scared for Marci.   There were times when I thought that her curiosity was going to get the better of her. Well I guess if you are brave then you are going to have some amount of curiosity.

A Voice in the Night is the first book in the ‘From The Corner Of Your Eye Trilogy’ and it is most definitely a great start to the series.  This is a very entertaining story that has a mix of paranormal, mystery and suspense that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. It surely had me on mine. I found myself turning the pages as I just had to find out what next Marci was going to encounter. There were quite a lot of twists and turns that had me guessing and I never could tell what was coming next.  I was pulled into the story from the very beginning and I found it to be quite unique, fast paced and well written.

My only disappointment is that there were quite a few unanswered questions but I guess those will be answered in the next book which I can’t wait to read.
If you love your love stories with a mixture of paranormal, suspense and mystery then this book should be added to your reading list.
