Felt like a beginning

I really wanted to love this book and perhaps it’s because I’ve read so many hades Persephone books in a row but this book felt incomplete. Like this book could have been 4 chapters to the next book. The stakes were not that high and the climax was a little lack luster. In addition, I felt like too many characters were added at once, I wasn’t sure who to care for that eventually I just stopped caring about everyone. Both Hades and Persephone just feel so meh. I didn’t like either of their personalities and felt like they relied too much on fate rather than making their own choices. I am however willing to give the sequel a chance!
