Before I even read a single page of this novel, I had heard so many great things about it. The story sounded absolutely fascinating, and to be honest, I have no idea what took me so long to finally check it out!
First of all, the plot is simply magical. Everybody who loves to read can connect with the characters and despite all the dark things going on, you will feel a longing. The way things, characters and stories are treated in this novel will make every book-lovers heart beat faster. It really gets across the many things a novel can be, the many different feelings it can cause.
However, the story itself pulls you right in. The powers Cornelia Funke attributes to her main characters, well she has them you. You get sucked right into the story. I even found myself holding my breath, desperately wanting to know what would happen next.
It's a story like no other. I've read quite a few fantasy book, but this one really is special. This novel connects with the reader in a certain way that simply differs from everything else.

Inkheart has it - fascinating story, intricate characters, a magical world that is also full of darkness. It's a very special book you won't be able to put down! I can't wait to get started on part 2 :D
