If You've Got It, Haunt It (A Haunted Vintage Mystery, #1)

by Rose Pressey

"Delightful, intriguing." --Carolyn Hart

Cookie Chanel has a passion for fashion--and a murder mystery to solve!

Cookie Chanel has opened her own vintage clothing boutique, It's Vintage, Y'All, in the charming town of Sugar Creek, Georgia. Always on the lookout for stylish second-hand steals, she attends the estate sale of deceased socialite Charlotte Meadows. But she gets a lot more than she bargained for when Charlotte's ghost appears before her--offering fashion advice and begging Cookie to find out who murdered her.

As the persistent poltergeist tags along and a possibly psychic pussycat moves into the shop, Cookie sorts through racks of suspects to see who may be hiding some skeletons in the closet. Do a clothing store owner and a disembodied socialite have a ghost of a chance of collaring a killer--or will Cookie's life be the next one hanging by a thread?

I received an ARC through NetGalley.

If You've Got It, Haunt It was so much fun! I very new to Cozy Mysteries, so I'm just trying out different themes and thought vintage fashion would be a good one. Cookie Chanel owns a vintage boutique, and while shopping an estate sale, she realizes that her talents aren't limited to spotting good deals. She can see ghosts! Well, at least one ghost who happens to be the recently murdered owner of the estate. Charlotte knows she was murdered, and since Cookie has been the first person to be able to see her, she'll stop at nothing to get the fashionista's help in solving her case.

I absolutely adored Cookie and her passion for fashion! If You've Got It, Haunt It also stars a psychic cat named Wind Song. She wanders into Cookie's store and won't leave. Wind Song can also use Ouija boards and tarot cards to communicate, courtesy of Cookie's best friend, the occult expert, Heather. In fact, I really enjoyed the entire cast. Charlotte is one feisty ghost, and she certainly knows how to dress! Of course, there's also all of the murder suspects who were interesting and suspicious in their own ways.

I had a lot of fun playing along with If You've Got It, Haunt It. The mystery is quite straight forward, without many twist or turns, but it was still a fun ride. There are also vintage shopping tips and ideas for getting rid of ghosts at the start of each chapter, which I loved! I'm always happy to see little extras like that. I'll most definitely be picking up the next book to see what mystery is in store for Cookie and Wind Song!
