My Review:

I was so glad to be able to jump back into the world of Mary Hades. This series is one of my favorites it’s filled with creepy settings, a touch of romance, teen angst and emotion. I adore Mary and I love this series. Poor Mary can’t seem to catch a break, after an entire summer of dealing with ghosts she is about to start a new school. All Mary wants is to have friends and a normal life. Sure her BFF is a ghost but what Mary really wants is to not be bullied and made fun of like her old school. Mary can see ghosts and now she is equip with a knife that can send ghosts to the next life. Lacey her ghost BFF is still around and doesn’t want to leave just yet. She feels that she has more to do here and Mary is all to happy to allow her to stay, she needs her.

Things get a little out of control on her first day when she starts once again seeing a ghost, seriously can’t they just give her a break. She tries very hard to hide it because she just started to make friends with some of the popular kids in school. When everything gets completely out of control and friends turn into not so good friends, it’s up to Mary and Lacey to stop it.

Mary does make to unlikely friends and one of them might be somewhat similar to Mary which I loved. I know in the other books Mary made friends but now that she is in this new school her only real friend is Lacey. This book might have been my favorite and I devoured it in one day. I love everything that this series has to offer and at times I found myself a little concerned and frustrated at how people were treating Mary. The ghost story was interesting and I enjoyed every creepy minute of it. I really liked Willa and Jack, they are great additions to the story.

A lot goes on in this book and tons of great twists and turns. Don’t want to spoil it for you. These books are not intended for kids under the age of 15 due to strong language and some gory situations. I highly recommend this series. I am planning on reading the next and hoping to get a chance to read all the novellas. This series is just fantastic. Sarah Dalton can really create a creepy, amazing story.
