A lot of people hated this book because of all the rapes and violence and graphic content, but honestly I didn't mind, in some ways I even appreciated them: the author wrote about sex slavery, it seemed only fair and natural that he decided to write about it with the use of mature content. I liked also the tones: graphic and crude, never romanticized. What I didn't like was the plot, specifically the lack of one up until the last 30 or so pages. The characters were ok I guess, nothing special. Laurent was the one that interested me the most. There's no world building whatsoever and the (very few) women we meet are secondary characters at best and despicable in various degrees. The book is very short and fast-paced, you can easily read it in one sitting. Because of this maybe I'll try the sequel.
