The Rogue's Proposal by Jennifer Haymore

The Rogue's Proposal (House of Trent, #2)

by Jennifer Haymore

"Lord Lukas, current heir to his brother, the duke, is a dissolute rake with a mission to find their missing mother. He's on the trail of Roger Morton, who may or may not have abducted her, and he hopes to be closing in on this slippery man. Also in search of Morton is Emma Curtis, whose family fortune was stolen by her late husband, a compatriot of Morton's. If she can find Morton, she thinks, she'll be able to find the money and return it to her father, thereby improving his frail health. When they learn of each other's quests, Luke and Emma decide to join forces even though it means that they will be traveling and staying together. Slowly, the troubled Luke falls under Emma's gentle guidance and starts to believe that true happiness might be his."--

I received an ARC for an honest review.

I was honestly surprised by this book. I think maybe it needs a little bit of a warning to people who read historical romances with lovely sweet sex scenes...because this was a weeeee bit more than that.

I'm not complaining personally, because I read lots of different types of romances, but I do know a few people who read historical romances that wouldn't expect to read the type of language or descriptions used.

I think the thing that surprised me the most was that it was erotic, but very sweet as well.

Getting back to the story....it was a chase/suspense story line where both the characters are after the same man. Nothing particularly new on the story line front, but still a great historical romance with a bit of kink.

I enjoyed it and will definitely be doing some research on more stories by this author.
