**I received a copy of this book free from NetGalley & Black Falcon Press in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Dystopian? Not exactly... at least not in the traditional sense of the word. A great sci-fi adventure? Definitely!

Imagine going to a new school and learning that reality...isn't. That your body is somewhere in comatose state, awaiting termination because of the bad guys. Now imagine that the bad guys turn out to be the good guys and the good guys turn out to be the bad guys...at least for the moment. That, ladies and gentlemen, is The Alpha Drive.

The first book in a trilogy, The Alpha Drive starts off a bit slow, but quickly picks up the pace. The characters aren't well developed right off, but I think that adds to the book rather than detracting from it. After all, there are two more books and so more opportunities to find out about the characters. I will say this, lack of major character development aside, I couldn't stop reading this book and didn't want to put it down. I wanted to see how it ends.

The ending is very interesting and opens the doors for the second book in the trilogy. I'm excited to get my hands on a copy of the second and third books so I can read them as well.

The Alpha Drive is a 5 star sci-fi read that provides a fresh take on sci-fi and keeps you on your toes.
