I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The ending of The Doctor's Wife left me wondering if a sequel was on the horizon. Well, Hurst did not disappoint. In the Doctor's Widow, Hurst delivered a spell binding tale filled with suspense and drama.

Fern is living her best life now that she believes she got the ultimate revenge against her husband and his mistress. However, as we all know, nothing lasts forever, a fact Fern will learn. All her plans came crashing down around her when she unwittingly revealed the details of her revenge plot to someone whom she believed she could trust.

Now, if you have yet to read The Doctor's Wife, you need to do so before picking up The Doctor's Widow. Readers who read book one are aware of Fern's diabolical nature. Well, it's once again on display in the sequel, and this time it is more extreme. This time around, she is fighting to protect her secret and avoid a prison sentence. She will do anything to ensure this, so prepare for a twisted and edge of your seat tale.

Once again I will be vague as it's not possible to go into details without giving away spoilers. I will say this though, this one exciting read. From the prologue to the epilogue. Be prepared for a one sitting read. And after reading that epilogue, I eagerly await the next book in the series.

The Doctor's Widow will appeal to fans of psychological thrillers. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading
