Tangled Rose is upsettingly gross and I think unnecessary. I normally really like (or even love) these dark erotica stories about captives, but only if they’re done in a certain way. This one was not like that at all. It’s basically 70 pages of Rose being repeatedly raped to show us how awful this motorcycle club is. That is not okay. At all. Even though it’s listed as book one, it’s actually a prequel novella to the series, so that makes me wonder if it even needed to be included.

I liked some of the plot ideas that Tangled Rose introduced. This MC kidnaps the daughters of rivals they’ve killed and make them dance in their middle of nowhere strip clubs. I could totally get into a story about Rose escaping from that, and probably falling in love with one of the club members. However, all of the stuff that happened in this prequel, I could have done without the details. Perhaps a mention of Rose’s captivity in the first book would have been fine, but this level was just too much.
