The Perfect Lover by Stephanie Laurens

The Perfect Lover (CYNSTER, #11) (Bar Cynster)

by Stephanie Laurens

Simon Cynster's finally found his match in Portia Ashford. But as they explore the depths of their passion a shocking crime is committed. Will Simon's strength and influence be enough to protect his newfound lover from becoming the next victim?

Simon Cynster has finally realized that it's time for him to settle down, and Lady Osbaldestone's house party seems like the perfect place to find a bride, but Portia Ashford is not what he had in mind. She's not the least bit interested in marriage, for one thing, and for another she's practically family. But Portia has another kind of family in mind - children of her own - and in order to reach her dream she'll need a husband. She must learn that in order to find what she wants out of a marriage, she must trust her heart, even if it is leading her to stubborn, notoriously roguish Simon.

Romance between two strong characters who discover that childhood friendship can blossom into romance under the right circumstances. And then a murder interrupts the house party and with Portia (our heroine) in danger from the murderer things get interesting.

Not a bad read, nothing outstanding though.
