Last to Know (Willow Creek, #1)

How does Micalea write stories so freaking thoughtful and amazing? I love Micalea. She is one of my favorite authors (she is in the top 3) so when I found out she was writing LAST TO KNOW, I almost lost it. I was so excited!!

When I first started reading it though, I thought "Oh I'm not going to like it." The reason being that the characters—more on Maddox's part—had kind of an insta love. BUT! That wasn't really the case. Yes, Maddox felt attracted but that wasn't the only reason. Emma didn't know he was the drummer for Willow Creek. He felt like he could be himself with her and therefore, he pursued it and didn't tell her who he was, which brings a bit of a drama along the way.

I love Micalea's book boys. Cade from Rae of Sunshine is...or was my favorite until Maddox....okay, they are battling for the spot. Micalea has a way of making you think the MC is a bad boy but in reality they aren't. For a moment, I thought he was playing Emma. Then I remembered I had the same feeling with Cade and Rae and I just knew that Maddox would be perfect and damn, he is! For Emma's birthday, he made a freaking tent in his room, decorated it with lights and pillows so Emma could have her reading corner. If that doesn't scream "perfect", I don't know what does.

Let's not forget about the fact that Maddox has a hedgehog!!! His name is Sonic (yes, he was named after the blue hedgehog you see in video games). I just want one of my own! And Maddox also knitted Sonic a cape so he could be Super Sonic! Maddox doesn't knit but it was something Emma wanted to do so he took her to knit. He also took her zip lining and skydiving! I love this man, seriously.

I can't wait for the rest of the Willow Creek band series!!
