This being a highly anticipated release and the thought that I was finally going to be inside Kellan’s head had me all a tingle. I was really nervous. Someone asked me if I was going to read the series again in anticipation for this release. I said no, only because I really didn’t like the character of Keira. I wanted to go in fresh and see Keira through Kellan’s eyes. Maybe I would see something through his story that I didn’t see with her telling the story. Well, it didn’t work. I fell in love with Kellan all over again. He is sweet, caring and lonely. Yes I know that his participation wasn’t innocent, but he never knew love and the love he found with Keira was something he did not want to go without. If anything I came out disliking Keria even more after reading Thoughtful. I think Kellan deserves better. There I said it.
I have read a lot of books that dealt with love triangles. But never have I come away with actually thinking that the book hero would be better off alone. If anything, there have been books that I actually rooted for the heroine to break off with her boyfriend to be with the “other man”. Not in this case.
So all in all I’d have to say that yes. I loved Thoughtful, I just fell in love with Kellan more and my hatred for Keira just intensified. If that is what S.C Stephens was going for, bingo. She nailed it.
