I am fairly new to the MMA-esque books and have come to like it. Ladies, what's not to like about it?

Both Alexis and Ryder have a pretty long history together, but it would be quite some time until they actually get together. Regardless of how many years they've been apart, their adoration for each other never faded away.

Alexis - life has been pretty tough on her and coping with it all is just another way for her to build up a wall. She's just floating around in her life and is kind of stuck, but Ryder comes along to save her. I learned to appreciate Alexis and was thankful that she wasn't a whiny character, even if there red flags that flew around, when it came to Ryder. She wouldn't give into doubts and start second guessing. In other words, she didn't cause unnecessary drama between her and Ryder.

Ryder - to Lexi, sex just rolls off this guy, being a fighter and all, I guess it comes with the territory. Ever since they were young, he always felt the need to protect Alexis. He saw her as the forbidden fruit, but that didn't stop him from getting what he wanted. As dominant as he was, Ryder was also a super caring, fun-loving guy.

Their relationship is INTENSE and you see that through the entire book. I was bit surprised that SOME things took its time, you'll see what I mean when you read this one. And all the sexual tension was off the charts you won't be able to stand it.

This book ALMOST had it for me, but there were little things here and there that prevented me from giving it a 5-er. Overall, I enjoyed the storyline and loved the characters minus a few nut jobs. There were some moments where it lulled and caught myself phasing in and out of the story. In some situations, there would be a little bit of a build up for something, but then it was nothing. And there were moments that were a tad bit corny/unnecessary, but it did make me chuckle a little bit.

It's a steamy, enjoyable read.
