I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Publisher. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Spin by Patricia Cornwell is a book about a smart young lady who is basically a cop working with NASA.

Will Captain Calli Chase find out what went wrong at the rocket launch?

Captain Calli Chase

Captain Callisto "Calli" Chase is our point of view character, which means she's our main character. I liked reading things from her perspective. It was a great way to get to know the main character, even if she seems to be constantly eating. Calli is all about doing things the correct way, even if she misses seeing her twin sister face to face instead of only through cameras at times. I like how she didn't really cuss throughout the whole thing, and when she wanted to, it was always something different. Calli is somewhat motherly, even if she doesn't want to admit it.

The Story

Calli Chase is working on trying to figure out why the rocket launch got damaged. She is also dealing with physical and family issues that keep happening throughout the story. There are so many things happening and some things that don't truly get resolved.

Calli is a great person when she is working on cases and after them. She does a lot of investigating. But everything that she does is by the book; she doesn't deviate from that. I feel sorry for her and her sister, and I didn't care for the fact that her parents put them in this position.
3 Stars

Spin by Patricia Cornwell is a good book, and you don't have to read the first book to read this book. It is completely stand-alone. As I sure didn't and got the jest of what was going on. Ms. Cornwell is an excellent author, and I loved the way that she wrote this novel. Three stars for Spin by Patricia Cornwell.
