This is my first book from this author it did not disappoint i was drawn in by Reuben a very curious and unique boy. He is the perfect young man who wants to have an adventure and an adventure he has. I thought the idea of the directions, and the mysterious Mr. Smoke was masterfully pulled off. The story kept me guessing at each turn of the page what i thought would play out did not. I love the mansion and all the booby traps that were set up all to protect this watch. It was a delightful middle grade read highly recommended.
