What’s a good girl to do when the man she loves sees her only as a friend? Why hatch a half-baked, slightly immature plan that actually works, of course. Lexi has been in love with Ash since she first set eyes on him when she was 15 years old and 12 years have not made a difference in her feelings for him. Unfortunately for her, Ash has always been kind and friendly towards her… emphasis on friendly. He’s never looked at her as anything other than a friend. However, that’s about to change if Lexi has anything to do with it.

I found this to be an incredibly sweet story and great if you are looking for a quick, non-complicated novella. My only issue of contention is Lexi’s behavior. She seems very manipulative. He won’t approach her at the bar, so she dances with his friend… he won’t go with her to a secluded beach alone with her, so she threatens to go hunting for bears by herself. Her behavior was more reminiscent of a 17 year old, not a 27 year old. That being said, their romance was actually tugs at the heartstrings. Who doesn’t remember falling in love at such a tender age and still remember those feelings fondly decades later?

I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick, sweet read with just a bit of naughtiness tossed in for good measure
