On Raven's Wings is a fantastic new series by Isobel Lucas, the self-proclaimed evil twin of the ever fabulous Megg Jensen, author of the seven-book The Song of Eloh Saga. This series is very different from Song of Eloh, much darker and completely modern. As much as I loved Song of Eloh, I think this series is my favorite. Dark and gritty, religious satire like you have ever seen, irreverant, and totally realistic teenagers... hormones, language, and all! Isobel is releasing these books, novellas of about 10,000 to 15,000 words, about every two weeks, making the wait so much less painful! This episodic way of writing and releasing is a really fun way to read this series!

I love the idea behind this series... angel guy meets demon girl. Isobel makes these otherworldly characters completely believable and likeable, not an easy feat with angels and demons. What I love the most is the grittiness these characters have, the irreverance. They aren't made into the stereotypes of angels and demons, but are real teens who just happen to be an angel and a demon. Ian isn't the perfect angel and Raven isn't perfectly evil. I love that Isobel takes these characters out of the box and makes them so real! There is also so much more humor than you would expect, making the story one that you just don't want to end! The ending just left me wanting more!!
