Blake "Baby" Bollinger is a happy go lucky kind of guy. Always with a smile and wink, no one sees his struggles. Quinn Harrison's struggles are well known and she is fleeing to Oak Creek to get some solitude. Despite their age difference, Quinn and Baby hit it off right away and they are slowly able to share their past with one another.

Quinn is a brilliant former professor at Harvard who is now seen as a liability by employers due to "erratic behavior". This woman can't catch a break! Her ex-husband is a douche canoe of the highest order, Harvard blacklisted her, and she begins questioning her own mind. Baby has a job he loves, but a provision in a will might cause him to lose it. He hasn't told anyone he has been going to college or that he could lose his business. But, with only a few months left to meet the deadline, he realizes he needs help.

For me, it was obvious who was out to get Quinn. What was unique about Quinn's situation is the way Crouch focused on the impact to her mental health. I also thought the chemistry between Baby and Quinn felt very natural. Normally, age gap tropes are hit or miss for me, but in the case of Baby, it was effortless. Also, fans of the series will enjoy the glimpses into past couples and their adorable kids! But no worries if you haven't read the other books-this really does stand alone quite well.

Fans of age gap romance, secrets, danger, and true love will gobble up Baby just like I did!
