I really enjoyed Ice the first book in the series and added more of the series to my list. I ended up grabbing the novella for Spring Thaw, not even realizing it was part of an anthology. A friend of his father’s is about to be arraigned for the seven-year-old murder of a Bishop.
This was an interesting case, and I enjoyed watching Chris piece things together. His Mom, friends, and local law enforcement aided in solving the case. Sterling, his retired police K-9 was hilarious. The clever dog assisted, as did a Cat with the funniest name. It was a fun edition and well done, albeit short.

Carr spins an entertaining, small-town mystery with memorable, fun, quirky characters. She mixes suspense and humor into each tale. I personally love the animals she introduces.

The collection offers shorts from quite a few of Carr’s series. As I have not read them; I held off. Each of the short stories offers a mystery with a resolution. This title is also available in audio format. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer
