I found the Little Golden Books version illustrated by Ruth Sanderson in a used bookstore. Cute and vintage regency-like illustrations.

Then today I borrowed the version illustrated by Jan Brett from inter-library loan in a library-bound edition. I like this one a lot better. The colors, illustrations and costumes are very carribean.
