I dunno that the importance of not ever doing this at home is truly highlighted. Half the things listed will kill you. The other half will just poison you which you may or may not recover from. Great plan.
I would only give this to older kids. Frankly I wouldn't recommend it at all, but I know people (and kids) love Roald Dahl - I just never got the appeal. 2 stars for target audience, 1 star for me.
