This book hit me with a whole steam engine of feelings. Joy that one of the first webcomic creator whose work I've read has come back, astonishment at the sheer size of it, and sadness when it came to some of the stories. I don't remember if Kaiti had appeared in any of the comics on the Hyperbole and a Half website. When I first saw her little scribbly self on the page, I thought "Cool, Allie has a sister! I wonder how she's doing now." I got my answer in the section about loss. I was shocked. It hadn't hit ne that Allie and her family had been going through all this awful stuff in the past few to several years and that was the reason why the updates tapered off. I assumed it was just a lack of time and/or interest, the twin scourges of online content creation.
Allie, if you are reading this: Thanks for releasing this book. You're an amazing creator and you deserve to feel that.
