Drama - no matter the cost

"What Simon and Fern thought was going to be an intense survival adventure turned a bit terrifying as they began to wonder if the TV director might be out for something more than simply an exciting show.

Rarity Mountain was a different type of suspense from the first two in the series. Simon and Fern were cast together to survive in the wilderness for a television show. Their individual motivations for going on the show made perfect sense in the context of the story. Would I have done that in their situations? Are you kidding? I would die in the wilderness like that!!

There were a couple of things that could have been better. In some places, the time frame seemed jumbled. Also, at the beginning of the book, Simon pretty much brushed off God despite knowing about Him (his brother is a pastor). Though we saw a point where he knew he needed prayer because of an accident, all of a sudden nearer the end he appeared to have a strong faith. The switch seemed a bit too abrupt and could have been developed more.

These are minor quibbles, though, and I really enjoyed Rarity Mountain.
