Crash Into You by Katie McGarry

Crash Into You (Pushing the Limits, #3)

by Katie McGarry

'KISS ME,' Isaiah whispers.

My heart beats frantically

Isaiah is hot and scary and hot.

Why would a guy like him want to be anywhere near A GIRL LIKE ME?

People expect Rachel Young to be the good girl who always gets straight As.

But Rachel's keeping her real life secret.

Her wealthy family have no idea that she loves racing strangers in her mustang. Or about dangerous, intense Isaiah Walker

Isaiah has secrets, too. And the last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl slumming it.

But when their shared love of speed puts their lives in jeopardy, Isaiah and Rachel have six weeks to come up with a way out - and to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

I received an ARC through NetGalley.

Now, there is the intensity I was missing from Dare You To! Crash Into You hooked me from the very beginning and never let me go. I've really enjoyed Isaiah in the previous books, so I was eager to get to know him better. Rachel is a new addition and I came to like her a lot, too. But what I loved was the plot. It wasn't as emotional as Pushing the Limits, but the intensity comes from the suspenseful plot. I know absolutely nothing about cars. In fact, I can't even drive. But I love the Fast and the Furious movies, so I ended up loving the gritty drag racing plot, especially as Rachel and Isaiah scramble to raise enough money to pay a debt owed to a very dangerous person.

In Crash Into You, we meet Rachel Young, who may seem like the typical rich, private school girl on the surface, but she's not all. And I'm not just referring to her obsession with cars and addiction to speeding down back roads. She suffers from severe anxiety. Not just panic attacks, but severe panic attacks that sometimes cause her to throw up blood. It's bad, but she tries to hide it for her family's sake. Her problems don't just end there. Rachel's mom treats her as a replacement to her dead daughter, Colleen. Rachel hasn't even met Colleen but she's expected to speak at benefits about her (which triggers those panic attacks) and to fill the void in her mother's life. I really liked this unique "issue." It was interesting to see how a person's grief can effect those around them. Rachel isn't the only one in her family struggling either, her brothers and her father all tip-toe around their mom/wife.

Of course, Isaiah and Rachel meet at a race, which ends terribly and not just because Rachel loses. The man, Eric, who runs the show gets robbed by the guys who brought Rachel, and now he's after her for the money. Isaiah offers to take on her debt, but she still insists on helping. Naturally the two grow close as they work on cars and do more legit races to earn the cash. Obviously, they have some set backs and that just upped the tension. I assumed Crash Into You would have a happy ending, but I wasn't sure what the author would put her characters through to get there. That ending...woah! I almost cried. Well, I started to cry and then reigned myself in. I didn't see that one coming.

Crash Into You is easily the best of this series so far! I loved the characters, loved the plot, loved that crazy ending! The only thing I didn't love was Beth. There was too much of her, and I was already sick of her in her own book. It also seems like she took several steps back from where she was at the end of Dare You To. I also liked how we were introduced to a lot of new and interesting characters. I quite liked Abby and I really hope we see more of her, or that she gets her own book! The next book is about one of Rachel's many brothers, so I'm excited to see how he finds his true love.
