This has got to be one of the brightest covers I’ve seen this year. It reminds me so much of Lisa Frank’s style that it almost isn’t funny. Seriously though, don’t stare at the cover too long. It may not be good for your eyes (I’m jesting, of course).
What is particularly ironic about the bright color is just how dark the first few pages are. It makes sense thematically – the Lumberjanes are fighting black and white B movie monster villains and all that. It’s actually pretty funny.
I loved the conclusion to this plot. It was funny, clever, and of course fairly chaotic. I mean, we’ve got all of the Lumberjanes plus Ripley’s kittens mixed together. Throw in some sugar…and suddenly the cover is making a whole lot more sense.
