I am going to be super honest, I was in this for the Dog from the end of the previous book more than anything else. I honestly wasn't concerned with the spicy scenes and actually had to go back t0 re-read them to make sure I remembered them correctly.

They were a little off putting for me because they skirt the line of coercion and dubious consent. Also it was, to me, an odd depiction of hypersexuality. Having been assaulted and taking my agency back in a similar way to this scenario - this dug up a lot of things I didn't want to feel again. Which is not the fault of the Author at all, I haven't ever been triggered by these scenarios before, this one just happened to find the right cracks. Smoke's reaction to the situation was comforting, he didn't take advantage and that helped ease some of the emotional upheaval I feel thinking about it.

Overall the book is very well written, I found only two issues within the ARC which is really quite good. I loved Hero and his story I did expect to feel the sadness I did feel. It did overshadow the ending a bit, but over all the plot was tied up nicely.
