Ahhh...the downsides of coming to a series when it's only 2 books in and the the 2nd book is BRAND NEW. I'm a fan of the Gail Carriger Parasolverse books, and these give a very similar *feel* - fun, some snark, exciting things happening to people in petticoats, and some romance. Perfect light entertainment (and who couldn't use some of that these days?).

Fledgling is the 2nd book in the Sorcery and Society series, which I snapped up *immediately* upon finishing book 1, because I just had that much fun with it. I listened to these via Audible, and I am not exaggerating when I say I spent a fair portion of my commute time chuckling - and occasionally laughing out loud. In my car. In traffic. The story continues pretty much right where Changeling leaves off, and the girls find themselves caught up (and instigating!) even more mischief and chaos. Most characters return, so Harper was able to build on the relationships the reader has already cultivated. More romances, and MARY. I will say no more because I'm not a fan of spoilers. But make no mistake - she's back.

I'm already looking forward to the next book, and will certainly be snapping it up when it arrives. If you're looking for a fun, quick read - with plenty of wit and heart - then this would be a great series to start!
