Lila and Ethan: Forever and Always is a sweet conclusion to their love story. I really enjoyed Lila and Ethan’s main book, and I’m glad that we got this peek into their forever. It starts off with them on the final leg of the road trip they talked about in The Temptation of Lila and Ethan. As their adventure is winding down, Lila is worried about their future, or if they even have one. She wants a real commitment from Ethan and to know that he wants her in his life, even if they don’t get married any time soon. Ethan doesn’t like to plan for the future, he wants to take things day by day rather than forcing something and ending up like his parents. He definitely doesn’t want marriage, but he realizes that he never wants to lose Lila either.

I really liked this look at Lila and Ethan’s dreams and fears. They felt very realistic rather than forced. Lila simply doesn’t want to end up alone, since she really only has Ethan and Ella in her life. Ethan wants to be free to live his life how he wants to, and is struggling with accepting that he needs to alter his plans to fit Lila in. Of course, this novella isn’t all worries, there’s a couple of pretty hot sex scenes, too, which I’ve come to expect from this series. The ending is also really cute, but not the typical happily ever after. Lila and Ethan are doing things their way, as it should be.
