I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I loved the first book, but I adored this one! All the things I loved about the first book were present in this one, only more so. There were wonderful illustrations, really likeable characters, and a fantastic world.

I loved Evie, everything about her. She fit perfectly with Jocelyn and Roger. I also really liked the way Tiger Lily was portrayed. We got to see a lot more of Meriweather in this book just like I'd hoped. And we finally met more of Hook's old crew in Starkey.

There were neat twists and turns in the book. I liked the thought and detail put into everything. And there was a lot of humor as well. Jocelyn finally learns more about her mother in this book, and there were a few sad almost teary moments. But mostly it was funny and full of mystery and pirates. I really liked the traps and trickery involved in finally finding Hook's treasure. And the fact that little details that seem random or not all that important, end up being used in surprising ways later on.

If you like pirate books, and books with strong female characters, with lots of humor and twists, you need to read this series!
