As usual, as I am an unemployed college student who is perpetually broke, I was perusing the free books available for my Nook and happened upon all three of the Moon Trilogy novels. They seemed to be pretty good, so I downloaded them to my Nook.

I devoured Black Moon in a little less than an hour. At 95 pages, it was easy to read the entire novel in one sitting. It was very fast paced, which helped the reading time along as well. I really liked the concept of the werecats, as usually werewolves are all one sees in books.

When I first started reading, I was desperately hoping this book was not going to be Twilight for grown-ups - especially upon seeing the heroine's name is Isabella. However, that was definitely not the case here and I was ever so glad for that. The concept of the novel was intriguing and actually made me wish the first novel in the trilogy had been longer - it would have been nice to have gotten a bit more back story on both Donovan and Isabella to help flesh the characters out a little more.

I give this book 3 out of 5 stars, only because the characters could have used a bit more fleshing out and back story. Otherwise it was a great read!
