I love this book! It features Alessia, a young associate marketing director working for her father's company in NYC. She has an asshole for a boss who is a real piece of work. She meets Luca in an elevator and he pursues her. He makes it clear that she should never lie to him no matter what and he always knows when she does. Luca is hot, controlling, possessive, and a real bad boy.

I loved this book. I love how persuasive and demanding Luca is when going after Alessia, even when she's hesitant. I love how her attraction to him was described throughout the book. The switching narrative between the two characters really added to the story as well. I really liked reading Luca's parts, especially about his mom and his past which made me somewhat sympathetic toward him and made me appreciate how deep his story was.

There were really no negatives to this book for me aside from one particularly graphic scene but that's to be expected in a mafia romance. I think anyone who likes mafia romances will enjoy this book greatly.

"One minute, life is black and white, and the next thing you know, there are only shades of grey. Sometimes, that change occurs slowly—the death of one stage in your life setting in like an insidious virus. Other times, change comes about dizzyingly quick like the sudden drop of a guillotine—blinding and altering reality until life is unrecognizable."
