I didn’t enjoy the beginning of this book, it seemed predictable and slow and a bit too juvenile but as it progressed I fell more and more in love. Some of the dialogue stayed shoddy until the end, a little too forcibly contemporary, like imagining how an annoying young person would talk, but only some parts were like that. The book touches on a few heart wrenching subjects and problems the characters face aren’t just superficial to where you don’t care about them.
My heart throbbed multiple times and I grew attached to characters so even though I think this could use some improvement, I feel like 4 stars are still warranted. It’s a good quick read that puts you in some major feels once you get past some of the annoying quirks.
