Emily relocates from LA to Sunshine to fulfill an internship at the clinic. When she bumps into Wyatt, they realize they know each other from one hot and steamy night they spent together in Reno. They try to resist the chemistry, but the attraction is too strong.
"Trying to turn me on." He smiled. "I don't have to try."
The conflict: Wyatt grew up all over the world and wants to root himself in Sunshine. Emily's "plan" involves working in LA, not Idaho. Watching these two tiptoe around this issue is soo painful! Although the overall feel of the book is on the lighter side, as with all of Shalvis' books, I shed a few tears when our heroes revealed what was really in their hearts.
I am a total feeler when I read, and I felt a lot:
He'd grown up with parents who'd chosen their careers over him....but inside he was wondering if maybe he was just the type of guy who women left
You make me forget my plan.
He wanted to reclaim all her pieces she'd lost and give them back to her
You showed me with your body, and okay, you showed me with your actions all damn day long, every day, but you were stingy with the words. And I needed the words!
I should've understood that it wasn't because you didn't have feelings for me, but the you had so many.
Shalvis once again delivers a delightful rom-com with lovable characters and the perfect balance of sweet, sexy, angsty, and funny.
