The idea of a Vegas wedding to a stranger intrigued me enough to want to read this novel right away. Novalee and Dean couldn't be from two more different worlds. Wealthy hotel mogul legacy vs small town hardware store owner's daughter. That in itself had me turning the pages.

I read this book in two days. Let me tell you, with all that I have going on in my life, that is quite a feat. I just couldn't stop. I kept telling myself they can never work out. How the hell can this possibly work? Dean was lying to Novalee, himself, and pretty much everyone around him yet elements of the truth were at the forefront throughout the story.

Schmidt kept me longing for Dean's confession to Novalee about the knowledge of their marriage long before he arrived on her doorstep. Even as I got to the last chapter with tears in my eyes, I had doubts that anyone could survive the pain they had put each other through and come out with a happily ever after.

So, my advice, run, DON'T WALK, to your computer and order or download this emotional thrill ride. You won't regret it.
