I found myself a bit captivated by this novel, as Tonya Hurley posed the "what if" question of saints and martyr's living amongst us. It actually got me to thinking and mulling the whole idea of it over in my head and stayed with me long after I'd closed the book. I ended up enjoying the way she went about posing this question and the elements that lent well to her dissection of it through her main character's and their actions. To say the book was interesting would be a more accurate way to describe it, other than it was just captivating.

The characters are wonderfully developed and likable, the story arc is intriguing and wonderfully written, and the style of writing is good enough to keep any reader interested in the story. It is a gritty narration filled with thrilling suspense and intrigue sure to keep readers invested in what's to come, as they flip through the pages. Different would definitely be a word that I would associate with this novel. While there are some that might not find this particular book to be their cup of tea, I actually found myself really enjoying it. It was so nice to see a new fresh voice added to young adult fiction and I think that Tonya Hurley is going to be someone a lot of readers are going to want to be looking out for.

She writes her romance with such a strong emotional passion that it just sweeps you off the pages and reader's will find this to be pretty amazing. The Blessed is just a wonderfully written original thrilling piece of young adult fiction that should definitely be on anyone's bookshelf. The story is just amazing. The mystery, the spiritiual richness, and the originality make it just phenomenal.
