It's been a few years since I first read The Colour of Magic. It was fun to reread, but for some reason I didn't feel compelled to keep reading. The Colour of Magic is more like a collection of four connected novellas rather than one story. Pratchett has a wonderful sense of humour and a great feel for the bizarre. If it was combined with a bit more plot and direction, I would have been a very happy girl. His writing is excellent, however.
