The Reason Series is a compilation of the four books in the series. Each book makes up a "chapter" in this collection. It starts as we're introduced to Vivienne. A girl who is trying to put her life back together after being severely abused by her boyfriend. Her life isn't easy and she's barely scrapping by, but she's determine to put herself back together for the sake of her unborn child. It's while working that she meets Micah Blake. A wealthy businessman, who's appearance intrigues her, Vivienne begins to question just what he wants from her and if she is simply a pity mission for him. But there's no denying her feelings for him or his need to take care of her when their worlds are thrown upside down by revelations about Angels, Elysium guardians and pacts with the Devil himself.

I really enjoyed the part of the book that was GIVE ME REASON and GIVE ME HOPE. Both of those parts focused on the relationship between Vivienne, Micah and the relationship they were starting to build. Despite the drama and the things that happened to Vivienne, both Micah and Viv were forced to take a look at their feelings and decide what to do moving forward. But as we moved from that we got into the aspect of the story, with both of them discovering their angels and their worlds turned upside down, that I lost momentum with the story. I still liked Micah and Vivienne, I was just ready for them to have their HEA without anymore drama. Even without the whole angel piece, they'd already had enough drama with the domestic violence. I wanted them to get to a place where their relationship was stable, Vivienne figured out what she wanted to do with her life and they lived HEA. They got there...eventually, but not as soon as I liked.

I will be the first to admit, I don't generally read books that involved angels, etc. I'm not sure what it is, they just don't appeal to me. But I thought I would give this one a try. But the whole becoming an angel if one of your parents is part angel and/or demon and being a fallen angel even if you have done anything bad was lost to me. I'm sure others will enjoy this book (and they have by the reviews I've seen), but for me I would have been happy with just Vivienne and Micah's story.
