I absolutely adore this series. I just can’t say that enough. I started reading it because I loved the colors on the cover, and because I heard Gwenpool would be in it (and being that she’s one of my favorite characters, of course I was going to follow her into a new series). But now it’s more than that. I love all of the different character dynamics, how they play off one another, and even how they can frustrate each other.
Admittedly the villain is still a little…hokey…but in a good way. It’s a series that’s supposed to be funny and light, so it really doesn’t need a crazy intense antagonist. At least, not right away. I think with time a tougher villain would be interesting, but the team has to learn to work together first.
As per usual, my favorite humorous points involve Gwen…which I’m pretty sure is the reason they brought her into the group. She makes for fantastic comedic relief, and is a different sort of crazy than the rest of them. So it all balances out.
