The forward does forewarn it: this has been translated from Norwegian, so there is a big focus on Scandinavia, to the point where the marketing seems misleading. I didn’t mind that focus, though, since one of the points of the book is how localized maps were for centuries, each one drawn with that place as the center of the world. It’s hard to step back in those shoes and imagine the world without the full picture, and these maps helped me do it.
