Kitty Thomas continues to prove why she's the master at the dark literary erotica genre. She continues to write very intriguing stories with very full characters and interesting plots. With this story, you have Kate, a successful woman, but who is still struggling financially and is about to be evicted from her home. She doesn't really have any true friends to call to sleep on their couch. So, she calls her ex who should've stayed an ex. However, she doesn't end up with the horrible ex. She wakes up in a cell with the mattress and another man.

Kitty Thomas continues to write stories that you cannot put down. She takes you to places you don't want to go and in the end, you love her for it. Her stories are twisted and always go to places I wasn't expecting. I've read all of her books, 23 different stories in total, and she continues to surprise me with each story. I love that she's able to continue to shock and surprise me with each story.

These stories aren't for everyone, but if you like dark, psychological suspense stories that will keep you guessing, I recommend you give these a try. The characters are not good people and I continue to question why I always find them so interesting, but they really are great in the story in which they are written. I often wonder if I were a character in her stories, would I love it or hate it? I'm honestly not sure.
