What a great book!! It has all the elements needed, a strong alpha male and a strong independent female who come together because they have to and take down the bad guys. Fantastic!
This is the third book the Welcome to the Point series and even though I didn’t read the first 2 I am glad I read this.
Titus King is a detective in a town that thrives on chaos and crime, he is doing everything he can to make his city safe and has no problem arresting those closest to him even his brother.
Reeve Black is one of those criminals that he is trying to protect his city from. Reeve was arrested a few years earlier but then turned states evidence and was placed in Witness Protection. She has come back to the Point because the Federal agent who is suppose to protect her is not who he says he is and the only person she trusts that is not corrupted or tainted is Titus King.
The complexity of the two main characters is what really drives this story. Neither is what the other thinks they are and when the come together to take down the bad guys they figure out that they are better together than apart. Jay does a fantastic job with the dual POV’s to allow the reader see what is going on with both these strong characters and its fantastic. If she had chosen just 1 POV I don’t believe this would have worked. The writing is fast paced so the plot keeps moving with no real slow parts in the story which I appreciate.
I also liked the secondary characters in the book – who all had their own stories prior. Even though I didn’t read the first 2 books I could follow along very easily and understood who they were in the scheme of this story. The seemed just as complex as Titus and Reeve are and I am looking forward to reading their book now. Also there is a build up for a 4th book that I am also looking forward to.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a real character driven story with some steam thrown in for good measure.
