Protagonized (Fictioned, #1)

I honestly don't know where to start with this book. It was certainly a mixed bag. When I read the blurb, I was super excited because it sounded unique and original (and it got an extra star just for that reason). And the idea itself IS very unconventional; unfortunately, the execution fell short for me.

I think I'll break it down into positives and negatives...

POSITIVES
-- Original idea.
-- The writing was quite good.
-- There was some laugh out loud moments.
-- I loved Hayden (most of the time).
-- No OW or OM drama.
-- Fun secondary characters.

NEGATIVES
-- The plot was ALL over the place.
-- The pace was very slow moving and the book too long.
-- No logical explanation for book characters coming to life!! I get I was supposed to suspend my disbelief, but I figured we would get some sort of logical reason that explained why several book characters just became real breathing people...but nope. *shrug*
-- Up until 85% Jake was an immature douche. I just never warmed up to him.
-- The ending felt rushed and a bit too "out there" and "over the top" for me.

So yea, as you can see a complete mixed bag. A fantastic original idea let down in the execution.
