Holly is having to spend Christmas with her grandma after her mom and her new boyfriend leave to go on a vacation. To add onto this Holly has also recently had an accident at school and now has a face injury. The person who causes the injury is now also the only person who is her age around during the holidays.
Overall I really enjoyed this short story. We get to see both Holly and Nick and how they are able to make the best out of a not so happy situation for them. My absolute favorite part of this story is how they truly did enjoy spending time with the older people that they were staying with. That isn't something very common in YA books and it was a really nice change.
