I think this series could have been tied up in 2 books. The resolution of the Isaac drama ended up being a non-event, not much else came out of the whole storyline with Junior and Beth's death so that left us with the hot mess of Jack and Laurel (which tied up a little too nicely). Was I happy the couple worked through their troubles to find a HEA...sure. But in the end, if you're going to dangle these secondary storylines that could alter the course, give us some conclusions that made it all worth while.
